Oxford boundary markers: Barracks Lane West (1830s?)

This stone is in Barracks Lane to the south-east of the Oxford Spires Academy (formerly Southfield School). It is not a listed structure.
This must mark the boundary of Oxford before it was extended eastwards to the Boundary Brook in 1889. The stone may date from the 1830s, and could be a pair with this one at the Iffley Road end of Henley Street.
There are two other boundary stones in and near Barracks Lane set up later in 1892 to mark the new 1889 boundary:
- Stone further east in Barracks Lane
- Stone near Crescent Road on the lane leading down to Marsh Road,
beside the Boundary Brook
