Mayor's perambulation of the City bounds: Thursday 22 September 1853

Mayor: John Crews Dudley

The following article was published in Jackson's Oxford Journal on 24 September 1853. The Mayor provided a ball after the perambulation at 10pm at the Star Assembly Room in Cornmarket. There is a suggestion that this may have been the last time the city bounds would be inspected, but in fact the event took place again seven years later in 1860.

JOJ 24 Sep 1853.
