The following very short article was published in Jackson's Oxford Journal on 19 August 1815. The city was much smaller at this time and did not even include St Clement's. The route is not described and no stones are mentioned, At this date it appears that only city officers and councillors took part in the event.
Tubb's house (and grocer's shop) where he entertained the group was on the site of the present 37 Cornmarket Street.
