The Mayor of Oxford welcomed 200 Belgian refugees to the city in 1914, and this plaque was unveiled on 30 April 2025 by His Excellency Jeroen Cooreman, the Belgian Ambassador to the United Kingdom, remembering those housed by New College at 8 New College Lane.
