Oxford History: The High

The High in 1922 from Carfax Tower

View from Carfax Tower

This postcard was published by F. Frith & Co. in 1922/3, although the photograph itself may be earlier.

Lloyds Bank is on the corner of Carfax on the left, and Wyatt & Sons, drapers and milliners, on the right, in a building demolished in the 1930s.

Further east the spire of All Saints’ Church slightly masks that of St Mary the Virgin Church.
